Information for Nurses

Are you a qualified nurse that would like the opportunity to work with children and their families in their own home?

The Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation offers a donation to families to fund in home nursing care to children from birth to five years of age with severe neurodevelopmental delay and to all children who require end of life care aged 0- 6yrs.

The nursing hours can vary from a minimum of 10 hours per month to a maximum of 64 hours per month and include day and night hours. The hours are negotiated with you and the individual family. Requirements

  • Must be registered with NMBI
  • Garda vetting essential
  • Union membership required
  • Experience of working with children with complex care needs desirable

Professional Responsibilities

  • Adhere to the Code of Professional Conduct and Ethics for Registered Nurses and Registered Midwives as outlined by NMBI.
  • Work within your Scope of Practice.
  • Respect and maintain the privacy, dignity and confidentiality of the children and their families.
  • Maintain professional boundaries.
  • Ensure that care is carried out in an empathetic and ethical manner and that the dignity and spiritual needs of the children and families are respected at all times.
  • Maintain appropriate and accurate written nursing records in accordance with professional guidelines.
  • In conjunction with the parents ensure claim form is signed, dated and submitted at the end of each month.
  • The Jack and Jill Liaison Nurse visit’s families on a regular basis to offer advise/support and is available to you should you have any queries or concerns.
